MUSICAL DIRECTOR
TINA: THE TINA TURNER MUSICAL
"It's really important to me to have the chance to share my full story. This musical is not about my stardom. It is about the journey I took to get there. Each night I want audiences to take away from the theatre that you can turn poison into medicine.” - TINA TURNER
From humble beginnings in Nutbush, Tennessee, to her transformation into the global Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner didn’t just break the rules, she rewrote them. This new stage musical reveals the untold story of a woman who dared to defy the bounds of her age, gender and race.
One of the world’s best-selling artists of all time, Tina Turner has won 12 Grammy Awards and her live shows have been seen by millions, with more concert tickets sold than any other solo performer in music history.
Featuring her much loved songs, TINA – The Tina Turner Musical is written by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall and directed by the internationally acclaimed Phyllida Lloyd.

Ehsaan was the MD and primary arranger for the a cappella group The Techtonics from 2015-16. He led the group to victory at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) Finals at the Beacon Theatre on Broadway in 2016 – the first and, to this day, only time a non-US group has ever won the competition. The group won ‘Best Arrangement’ for the songs “Isometric”, “Bicycle Race”, “Lay Me Down” and “I Saw Her Standing There”. Ehsaan received Imperial College Union colours and accepted an award on behalf of The Techtonics for ‘Special Services To Imperial College’. The music videos of the ICCA set have amassed over 100,000 views on YouTube.
Other ventures with The Techtonics include a sold out, 5-star, 3-week run at the 2016 Edinburgh Fringe with the musical-comedy show “Don’t Push The Button”, as well as multiple tours across the USA, Canada and Hong Kong. He was AMD and one of the arrangers of the groups’ 2nd studio album “Clockwork”. Previously, The Techtonics have won ‘Best Male Collegiate Song’ at the Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARA) for “Earthquake”.
